status.cafe is a microblogging platform that's super simple– you can't follow anyone or like anything– and I personally use it to write about my site updates (for the most part). Here's some tips and “hacks” that I've found for customizing your status.cafe experience.

You can use the provided embed code but it doesn't work on all sites. Here's some alternatives:

1. Creating a Feed Reader from StatusCafe from bechnokid – uses Javascript; basically you make a little script that pulls the RSS feed from your status.cafe account and puts it into your static site page

2. petrapixel's iframe widget – this is what I use! Some light style customization options available.

1. decodreams' tips on the forum covers backgrounds, fonts, header, etc.

2. pixeliana's tips include hiding various elements on your page.

gome's bookmarklet lets you select whatever emoji you want vs. the standard ones, as long as it's a single-character emoji.
