Projects & To Dos
A collection of things I want to do on the website and in personal life. Inspired by Tracy Durnell's project page!
Website To Dos
- Reorganize pages – I feel like I have too much overlap in categories. Or otherwise figure out how to cross-link pages more easily/more obviously. I have a tag plugin (which seems to have stopped working) but I think it'd be better to have a “related pages” section someone actually on the page itself.
- Found this plugin and am testing it out on the pixels pages but it's not exactly what I want…plus now the breadcrumbs at the top look dumb with the double nav on the page
- Ideally I'd have a “see also” or a “related” section at the bottom so I could link to different pages, ideally pulled from a list of tags/page categories but I guess I can go old-school and do it manually
- Finish uploading pixel collection
- Create stamps page
- Create sticker page, upload stickers I made (I have them somewhere)
- Complete WIP pages eventually (or at least get them to the point where I can take the WIP off the title)
- Create music collection page – focusing on compilations
- Create journaling guide
- UPDATE 4/18/25: page created and outline sort of done
- DONE Create travel section
- Make a button for the site that doesn't look like ass
- BIG!! Figure out how to set up a simple microblog page/subdomain that I can connect to ActivityPub/Micropub so I can host my own reading updates and stuff
Personal Projects
High Priority
- Switch to non-Gmail email. Probably fastmail?
- Download all photo from Google Photos and cancel subscription to Google One by MAY 2025 (oh god)
- Subproject: Organize photos in digiKam (and maybe figure out darktable????)
- Update 4/16/25: Have downloaded all photos by year, and am now doing a huge Google Takeout download of EVERY photo as a backup. Am currently importing everything to digiKam. Next steps are: look for duplicates, then analyze faces with the face analyzer plugin thingy, then manually tag by location/topic/person(/cat). And I need to work out a backup system in case my laptop dies.
- Update 4/17/25: Moving right along with this project. I've got everything imported into digiKam and am scanning for faces using the built-in scanner thing (which I guess is AI). My Google Takeout has been generated and now I just need to download 200+GB before the end of next week (RIP to my host's internet package I guess).
Medium Priority
- Finish tidying music collection
- DONE! Convert FLACs to 320kbps MP3s (I'm not trying to archive most things and need MP3s for my iPod anyway)
- Re-go through everything with MusicBrainz Picard
- Find missing tracks/album covers/etc.
- Create iPod playlists for easier syncing
- Figure out why old files are still on iPod despite doing a factory reset…
Low Priority
- Upgrade iPod to SSD/put in new battery – low on the list since it technically still works fine as-is and SSDs or flash drives are expensive
- also I'm scared to open it because it looks difficult
- Go to a zine fest IRL
- Try making the recipes from package recipe cookbook and write reviews/experiences
